Sending Blessing Welcome! Today we participate in the SE Iowa pulpit exchange and wel-come Nathan Luitjens, pastor of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church of Wayland, IA. Nathan and Rachelle and their three children have served Sugar Creek since 2004. Darrell Zook is at Zion Mennonite Church in Donnellson, IA today.
This Week: The Davis County Ministerial Association is planning two events in the community. On November 23, a Thanksgiving Service is at 4:00 in the historic Savannah Church at the Davis County historical site in Bloomfield. On December 13, a ‘Blue Christmas’ gathering especially for those remembering or grieving for loved ones at Christmas featuring a devotional at 11:00 by Rhonda Eakins with a catered lunch to follow. 50th Anniversary: The Pleasant View Mennonite Church of Mt. Pleasant, IA will celebrate 50 years on Sunday November 9th with a special service at 10:30 and meal and sharing to follow. John Zimmerman is the pastor. Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) will hold the annual Region III meeting November 14 & 15 at Salem Mennonite Church in Freeman, SD. Program information may be found on the Mission Bulletin Board. Church Pianist: Jen Hopwood will play piano at worship on November 9 as we hope for her to be with us regularly. Jen grew up in Pulaski, is a grand-daughter of Dean Hanna and attended Bible School at PMC. Jen is a music teacher and works with Justin Hill Ministries in Bloomfield. Thank-you for pies, participation and contributions for the Teresa Johnson benefit in Pulaski on October 25. More than $10,000 was received. Continue to pray for Teresa as she undergoes treatment. The Soup Supper & Fall Auction is November 14 . . . with soups at 6:00 by the youth group and auction at 7:00. Proceeds will be given in thirds to the youth, for purchase of new tables for the church basement and to help fortify the PMC General Fund. Bring baked goods, crafts and donations and ‘bid in the basement’ for an evening of fun and visiting.
