Discussion questions

  1. God condemned Israel (in the Prophets) of Spiritual Adultery (mixing with and worshiping other gods) Is the church today guilty of Spiritual Adultery?

  2. As physical adultery is emotionally devastating to a relationship, how do you think Jesus/Jehovah God reacts to spiritual adultery?

Friends of Crooked Creek Christian Camp,

Who knew when we started 2020, that the next six months would bring life to a grinding halt with a pandemic? The staff and board began the new year with excitement as we looked forward to celebrating our 40th year. Forty years of living out our mission of serving the spiritual development of children and adults in the Midwest by providing Christ-centered programs, excellent facilities, and generous hospitality in a setting that celebrates God’s creation.

This certainly isn’t what we thought our 40th year would look like. Cancelling summer camp this year and having to close our doors to guest groups over the last several months has put us in a tough financial situation. The financial impact of our guest group cancellations over the last several months comes out to a loss of $104,773.75

Over our 40-year history we have had our share of peaks and valleys and currently we find ourselves in a valley. We ask that you prayerfully consider a charitable contribution to help keep this ministry alive.

To ensure that Crooked Creek thrives for another 40 years and beyond, we need the financial support of our camp friends more than ever. Will you help us?

I recently received a note from the parent of a camper, who, when learning about the word Shalom and was asked if he ever felt shalom, or total peace and goodness, he immediately said “at camp” as he remembered a moment under the stars with his camp friends. This is the kind of story that motivates and encourages us to remain committed to our work in this ministry.

With your financial support, I know that there are brighter days ahead. I pray that we can come out stronger on the other side and continue to experience God’s faithfulness.

With Love,

Heather Bender

Executive Director
